Here are some awesome apps/software for getting your glitch on!
IkeOto ~Sound Arrangement~ - Mac OSX -
This app is available for FREE from the newly opened Apple App Store. Its basically a simple looper with some experimental sequencing/processing fx. To get started make sure you've got your internal mic enabled and then just start making some noise!
Based on the principles of 'Granular Synthesis' the iOS app 'Curtis' allows you to playback recordings at various speeds, loop small bits of the recording or jump around randomly etc. You can get pretty crazy results! I'd recommend this to anybody looking to make some sound fx etc. and there is even a FREE version as well.
Gleetchlab 3 is a "realtime modular composition and processing software for sound design and experimental music like glitch, IDM, electroacoustic, ambient…" This software is awesome and is quite capable of creating all sorts of glitchy sounds. Download the demo and give it a try!
The future is here and multitouch/touchscreen technologies are quickly becoming the go to interface for new age software instruments. Whether it be via Jazzmutant's Lemur or Apple's iDevices, this progressively affordable technology is really starting to take off. This project is an excellent example of where things are and where things are headed. Check out the video below! HD is recommended!

Welcome to the Basstream Radio "Gliitch EP" Sample pack contest!

produce a "glitch" oriented track for submissions for the contest.
The tracks must be complete and submitted by November 16th 2010, and the winners will be revealed the following Tuesday November 23rd live on Basstream Radio.
You must use a minimum of 20 total samples from the Basstream sample pack, and at least one vocal from the pack.
You are allowed to submit an unlimited number of tracks for the contest.
Genres include(glitchy): Dubstep | Breakbeat | Glitch Hop | Midtempo | Drumstep | Downtempo | the glichier the better!
after the deadline ends on november 16th 2010. we will pick the 1st, 2nd, 3rd place winners to be featured on the "Gliitch" EP which will be released on Substruk Records and available at most online record shops inc. Addictech, itunes, junodownload, digital-tunes, chemical records ect.
will release up to (10) submitted tracks on the Gliitch EP
Please don't share or post high quality versions of your tunes until after the contest ends. We will put them on our soundcloud at low res for promotion to the public.
