Personal Mission Statement: “I want to share my passion for music that I enjoy by performances, for a happy dance floor is a happy Bagoogal.”

Bagoogal first started playing a musical instrument when he was just 9 years old. Although it was just a simply recorder, he picked up playing quickly. He took the lead solo’s for his class. Shortly there after, at the age of 10, Bagoogal acquired his first and only brass intrument, the trumpet. Again being one of the leader in his band, he continued playing for the next two years in Middle School. During Middle School he was given a guitar. Because he found it hard to play at the time, he put the guitar aside for the next year, or so.

Then, when Bagoogal went into highschool he decided to leave the trumpet behind and pick up the guitar. He joined his highschool Jazz Band freshman year. He played in the band for the next three years holding solo’s that he composed during those silly highschool concert’s. ;) Read more »

The Mixtape contest is back! This is a chance for all you djs, producers, and music lovers to go through the LIB lineup with a fine toothed comb and put together a mix that moves the heart, the soul, and the booty. We’re looking for 30-60 minutes of amazingly intertwined tunes that will transport everyone who listens to the beautiful, inspiring (and booty-shaking) place that is Lightning in a Bottle.

What do the winners get?

Grand Prize: The mixmaster that best captures the spirit of LIB will win a spot on the lineup, a pair of full weekend passes, and their mix will be used as the official Lightning in a Bottle Mixtape, appearing in various prestigious press outlets.
2 Runners Up: Two runners up mixmasters will receive one full weekend festival pass each.
3 honorable mentions: Three more top mixes will be featured on our website alongside the winners.

Contet Rules:

All submissions must contain only artists included on the LIB 2011 lineup
All submissions must be between 30 and 60 minutes in length
All submissions must include name, contact info (email and phone number), website (if you have one) and a direct link to download – submissions via soundcloud.com are preferred (no attachments please).
Send all submissions to mixtape@lightninginabottle.org by Midnight pst. on Thursday April 14th.
